In addition to snail mucin, it’s also formulated with wild yam root extract (phyto mucin), a botanical ingredient that helps hydrate while also imparting some anti-aging benefits. In Korea, wild yam root extract is used as a plant-based alternative to snail mucin.

Together, these ingredients deliver an instant boost of hydration which helps skin appear softer and smoother the second it’s applied. We’re talking about a seriously bouncy, youthful complexion. And over time, you’ll also see an improvement in your skin’s overall texture and tone.

When & How to Use Snail Mucin Energy Essence

Whether you follow a three-step, five-step, or 10+ step skin care routine, you should always apply your skin care products in order of consistency. Lighter consistency products (like toner and essence) go first, while heavier products (like lotions and oils) go last.

That said, the Snail Mucin Energy Essence can be applied immediately after cleansing and toning. (If you don’t use a toner, you can move right along to the essence). Pump the clear gel-to-liquid onto your fingers and gently pat onto clean skin with your fingertips.

Afterward, follow up with a serum that targets your specific concerns. In the mornings we recommend reaching for a vitamin C toner—such as Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Drop for some antioxidant goodness—and then a gentle anti-aging formula in the evening, such as a Neogen Real Firming Bakuchiol Serum.
